Investigations underway after 3 people die in separate water-related incidents in NH, including Lexington boy

(WHDH) — Officials are reminding residents about water safety as they investigate three separate water-related deaths in New Hampshire on Saturday.A young boy scout died on a lake near Gilmanton after being hurt in a boating accident earlier in the day; the body of a man was recovered from a river in Manchester, New Hampshire; and a Beverly woman drowned while visiting family in Madison.The superintendent of Lexington Public Schools confirmed in a statement that the boy scout was a student at Clarke Middle School in Lexington. She wrote that several other students reportedly witnessed the accident.“Our hearts are with the victim’s family, as well as the Clarke school community and all those impacted by this tragic event.  We are blessed to be part of a loving, caring community, and we come together in times of need,” Superintendent Julie Hackett wrote.State police say all three deaths remain under investigation.This is a developing news story; stay with 7NEWS on-ai...

The clouds are winning out this morning, and that’ll be the case today. Scattered storms develop this afternoon mainly north and west of the region. This unsettled weather continues through Tuesday. Conditions are favorable to produce heavy rainfall that could cause flooding throughout central and western Mass. Far western Mass could pick up 2-4″ of rain. Man accused of crashing into police cars during chase, killing a 19-year-old officer, faces charges

RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont burglary suspect who led police on a high-speed chase and crashed his truck into two police cruisers, killing a 19-year-old officer and injuring two others, will be arraigned Monday on charges related to the crash, state police said. Tate Rheaume, 20, is facing charges of grossly negligent operation and attempting to elude, both with death resulting. Additional charges are possible, state police said. It was not immediately known if he is being represented by an attorney. Rutland City Police Officer Jessica Ebbighausen was killed on Friday afternoon. The crash happened as police chased a vehicle driven by Rheaume, a suspect in an attempted break-in at a house, state police said. Nine shot in downtown Cleveland, taken to hospital for treatment

CLEVELAND (AP) — An early morning shooting in a nightclub area of downtown Cleveland sent nine people to the hospital, but no fatalities were reported, authorities said.Police said preliminary information indicates that someone opened fire toward a group of people in the Warehouse District at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, about the time the clubs were closing. The suspect then fled the scene.Officers assigned to the district’s weekly detail arrived quickly and rendered medical aid, police said. Authorities reported that nine gunshot victims were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where their conditions weren’t immediately available.Detectives have been talking to victims at the hospital and reviewing video and other evidence, police said. BoC expected to raise rates again this week, vying to quash inflation faster
