BOULDER (AP) — The defendant in a 2021 mass shooting that killed 10 people at a Colorado supermarket pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity on Tuesday after a judge ruled that the case can move to trial.Attorneys for Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa entered the plea on his behalf before Judge Ingrid Bakke in Boulder. Clad in an orange and white striped jail uniform, Alissa looked down in court and at times at the judge as she advised him of his rights before his plea was entered.A plea of not guilty by reason of insanity involves whether someone’s mental health prevented them from understanding right from wrong when a crime was committed. Alissa is charged with murder and multiple attempted murder counts. DENVER (KDVR) — Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office are searching for a man accused of stealing a credit and SIM card from a gym locker, and using the credit card to buy almost $10,000 worth of jewelry.According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, a man entered a gym locker room at the 24-Hour Fitness at 6044 S. Kipling Pkwy. in Littleton, and stole a credit card and a SIM card. Police allege that the card was then used to purchase about $9,800 worth of jewelry at a Cherry Creek store, where the man was caught on camera. Authorities with the Federal Aviation Administration say they are investigating a series of incidents involving a laser flashing passenger jets as they traveled through Boston this week.The FAA told 7NEWS that at least four instances involving a green laser had been reported since Monday morning, with the latest coming in on Tuesday.“The flight crew of Alaska Airlines Flight 836 reported being illuminated by a green laser near Boston around 5:10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, Nov. 14,” the FAA stated in an email. “Local authorities were notified.
