No Trump indictment expected Thursday: court official

Former President Trump is not expected to be indicted on Thursday in connection with the federal investigation probing his efforts to block the transition of power following the 2020 election, according to a court official.The official said no indictments were returned and none were expected for the remainder of the day in D.C.’s federal district court, where the grand jury has been meeting to review evidence in special counsel Jack Smith’s probe.The grand jury did meet on Thursday, and jurors appear to still be inside the E. Barrett Prettyman Courthouse in Washington behind closed doors.It remains unclear when the grand jury would convene again. $65 million awarded to Austin community groups addressing homelessness

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, or TDHCA, awarded nearly $65 million to Austin community groups addressing homelessness, according to Austin Mayor Kirk Watson.“About $60 million has been earmarked to support the planning for and expansion of the non-congregate shelter model in Austin with a City goal of establishing an estimated 700 additional bed capacity,” Watson said.According to a city newsletter, $5 million would go to Caritas of Austin and LifeWorks for housing stabilization, which includes emergency rental assistance.At LifeWorks, CEO Susan McDowell said the award would go toward efforts of addressing youth homelessness and providing life-changing services like housing, counseling and workforce training. After just a year, Momento in downtown St. Paul to close to re-concept

Momento, the restaurant that opened about a year ago in the former Pazzaluna space, is closing temporarily.The restaurant will close from July 30-Sept. 5. When it reopens on Sept. 6, there will be a new concept that includes a new chef and entirely new food and drink menus.Memento was a more casual eatery than Pazzaluna, with a bar front-and-center. There were still a few pizzas (probably Pazzaluna’s most popular item) on the menu, and the wood-fired oven was used to make more appetizers and entrees.A spokesperson for Morrissey Hospitality, which owns Momento, said the name of the restaurant will remain the same, but the decor will have some noticeable changes. First responders battle vehicle fire in Coeymans

(NEWS10) -- On Wednesday evening, the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp., the Ravena Rescue Squad, and the Albany County Sheriff's Office EMS were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the area of Jarvis Road and County Route 101. Three men charged in Washington County murder

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ill. - Three men face felony charges in the murder of a man earlier this month in Washington County. Prosecutors have charged Kevin Loucks, Milton Robinson, and Arrion Sanders with first-degree murder. All three are from Belleville and were arrested between Sunday and Thursday, according to Illinois State Police. St. Louis police search for man after child sex crime Investigators say Loucks, Robinson and Sanders are all accused in the death of Montez Pearson, 44, who was found deceased near Lunte Creek Road on July 19.Authorities have not disclosed what led up to Pearson's death or what might have caused it. Loucks, Robinson and Sanders are all being held in the Washington County Jail on $1 million bonds. Illinois State Police, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Belleville Police Department have all assisted with the investigation.
