This year, a local school has become one of the first in the state to implement new computer science standards by launching a new robotics and coding program that's being used at all grade levels, kindergarten through senior year of high school.This year, inside the halls of Catholic Center, there is a different kind of teacher. 2 killed in Cajon Pass head-on collision

Two vehicles collided head-on in San Bernardino County Wednesday afternoon, killing both drivers instantly, authorities said.The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Cajon Boulevard at Keenbrook Road along the Cajon Pass.The drivers of a white pickup truck and a grey sedan were the only occupants of the vehicles, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Despite airbags deploying, both were pronounced dead at the scene.Both directions of Cajon Boulevard were closed for the investigation.The California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the cause of the crash.

A man has been arrested in connection with an apparent kidnapping that was captured on camera in Commerce Tuesday afternoon.At 4:21 p.m., a woman was quickly walking down Couts Avenue while talking on a cell phone when a man pulled up, the LASD said in a news release.The man, who exited his silver 2016-17 Kia Rio with a handgun, pistol-whipped the woman and dragged her into the car's passenger seat before driving away, the LASD added.The man was taken into custody around 2 p.m. and was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping.The woman remains at large. She was described as having "dark brownish red hair" and was wearing a black dress and sandals, the release said.
