Vallejo to name street after Bay Area icon, rapper E-40

(KRON) -- The city of Vallejo will be renaming a street after one of its own. Last week, the Vallejo City Council unanimously voted to rename nearly a mile of Magazine Street to "E-40 Way."The legendary Bay Area rapper is a Vallejo native and is known as a hip-hop icon in the region. E-40 has a song called "Magazine Street" off his 2015 album "Poverty and Prosperity." VIDEO: E-40 escorted out of playoff game between Warriors, Kings E-40 is not the only rapper to have a street named after them in the Bay Area. In May, the Oakland City Council voted to name a "Tupac Shakur Way" near Lake Merritt after the legendary deceased rapper. Last year, Oakland named a street after Too $hort. A stretch of Foothill Boulevard in East Oakland was named after the Bay Area rapper.Vallejo plans to have an official ceremony for "the renaming of the"E-40 Way" later this year.

Delays reported on Hwy 29 after six-car crash in American Canyon

(KRON) -- Traffic delays were reported after a six-vehicle crash on Highway 29 Monday afternoon, the American Canyon Police Department (ACPD) said. The crash happened just south of American Canyon Road near Safeway. Vallejo to name street after Bay Area icon, rapper E-40 Traffic on both the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway are expected to be impacted. Police and medical personnel are working to clear the scene.As of 7 p.m., ACPD did not report any injuries from the crash.There is no estimated time for when the roads will be cleared up. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Every weekday at 4 a.m., Charles Oguh can be seen unloading supplies for his restaurant Brookland Grill in Northeast D.C.It’s a restaurant he’s owned for more than 20 years, and every morning starts like all others, even last Wednesday.As he unloaded a rental car that morning, a group of teenagers approached.“They split into two (groups) and before you know it, they came on both sides,” Oguh said.He would then be stabbed with a screwdriver by a masked attacker. HOUSTON (AP) — Noah Syndergaard left his debut with the Cleveland Guardians after being hit on the right leg by a line drive in the sixth inning against the Houston Astros on Monday night.Syndergaard, who was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, was making his first start since June 7. Brazilian player involved in match-fixing scandal transfers to Cyprus

SAO PAULO (AP) — A Brazilian soccer player who was charged in a recent match-fixing scandal said Monday he is leaving the South American country to play in Cyprus.Alef Manga, 28, is accused of accepting a bribe of about $11,000 to get booked in a Brazilian championship match involving his club Coritiba last year.Manga said in his social media channels he was loaned to Cyprus’ first division club Pafos. He cannot play in Brazil until he stands trial for his involvement in the match-fixing scandal that was revealed in November, but the ban does not extend to other countries.Manga’s contract with Coritiba extends to the end of 2024, and he said he wants to play again for the first-division club based in the southern Brazil city of Curitiba. Aurora approves proposal to reinstate reserve police officers

Many large store chains like Home Depot utilize contractors that conduct business with Yellow Corp.Home Depot customer Stephanie Evans purchased a large shed and expected it would be delivered on time.“I paid shipping so that it would be dropped off here at my house and then we could build it and put it together and that would be it,” she said.Evans said the shed never arrived so she checked with the company contracted to make the delivery and learned that due to the Yellow bankruptcy, she would have to pay extra for delivery.“I initially paid $75 and now they were holding my shed basically hostage for another $240 in shipping,” Evans said.Evans contacted Home Depot for assistance and said the staff was very friendly and took steps to help.
